Court Reporting, for me, is best described as a passion. This passion provides the chance to impact the lives of others through teaching, and, hopefully, being an example of professionalism in the field. I am grateful for the opportunities provided to me through court reporting, and I want to share this passion with others. My passion about this profession causes me to strive to change the practice of court reporting in this state, and seek to return a sense of esteem and professionalism to the court reporting community.

I am 38 years old and live in Mt. Pleasant with my husband and two dogs. My involvement in court reporting began in 1990, after graduating from the Reporting Academy of Virginia. Once I had worked in the freelance field for a year, I was asked to return to teach night school, which I did, for a year. After a few more years as a freelance reporter, I became an official reporter in state court in North Carolina. After my time as a state official, I spent nine years as an official with the federal courts in Kentucky and then in South Carolina.

In February of 2007, I decided to start my own firm to give others the same opportunities court reporting has given me, including the freedom to take control of my life, become financially independent, and the possibility to make a difference in the lives of others.

My certifications include the Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), the Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), the Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), and the Federal Certified Realtime Reporter (FCRR). In addition, I have attended a federally funded program to obtain preliminary certification in closed-captioning and Communication Access Realtime
